Tŷ Hafan is a charity that is very near and dear to our hearts here in the #MyztroFamiily, for a number of years, even before the birth of this organisation, a number of us have run annual charity streams in order to raise money to aid the work of this fantastic charity, something we are keen to bring to Myztro Gaming and incorporate into the culture of our organisation.

When I say Tŷ Hafan are near and dear to our hears, It is not an empty gesture, not to our founder Nigel Jones especially and his son Callum who’s story this is and we play just a bit-part in. Callum had an incredibly rare condition called Tay Sachs which meant that unfortunately on the 23rd of April 2001 he passed away. During this tough time for Callum and his family, he was nursed, cared for and loved by the staff at Tŷ Hafan. Having a life-limited child is a tough blow for any parent, Tŷ Hafan understand this and make what time you have together special and memorable. So in Callum’s name and honour, we continue our tradition. We want to create more moments, more memories for more families like Callum’s.

Who are Tŷ Hafan

For those of you unfamiliar with the work they do, Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales. If you think this means they simply provide a place where children can come to die, you couldn’t be further from the truth. They offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together. I have seen first hand the memorable moments that the charity creates for these families and they are priceless.

They do great work, work that will never be forgotten by those it touches, Tŷ Hafan aims to meet all of the needs of life-limited children, young people and their families, at every step of their difficult journeys. We at Myztro Gaming want to aid that effort which is why we are running a week-long charity stream where all donations will go straight to Tŷ Hafan.
