Forty of the best teams from the EU, CIS, Russia, and the Middle East will be vying for the first-ever EMEA ALGS Championship title and over $663,000 in prize money starting today.

One of those teams: Myztro Gaming.

Wrugb, Sanya, and Xron will be playing against 39 other teams for a shot at the title. But how will they get there?

Group Stage

The Group Stage takes place on Tuesday, June 1st, Thursday, June 3rd, and Saturday, June 5th. All 40 teams have been evenly split into four groups. Myztro is in Group C, alongside 1907 Fenerbahce Esports, Third Impact, dead inside, DNMK, Top Dogs, UNDERRATED, soloQgoats, NCD, and Samsung Morning Stars. Each group will play another group in 6 games over three days. The top-scoring team in each group gets to advance to the Finals, with the rest of the 16 Finals spots going to the top 16 teams in all groups combined.

Finals

In the Finals, the top 20 teams play until one team hits a minimum of 50 points. Once a team or teams have reached 50 points, the team becomes Match Point Eligible, and if a Match Point Eligible team wins a game, the title goes to them, and places 2-20 are based on total Finals points. Finals have no match limit, meaning games can go on until a Match Point Eligible team places first in a game.

Points

Points are awarded for kills and for placement. Teams get 1 point per kill and additional points for placing higher in a game.

The Path To Glory

How can the Myztro boys secure a Finals spot? It’s pretty simple, actually. Get as many kills as possible and place as high as possible. The catch? They only have 3 days and 18 games total to do it. The top team in Group C gets an automatic bid to the Finals at the end of the Group Stage, which locks up a spot in the finals despite overall rankings. Being in the Top 16 teams out of all the groups will help as well, but that can be more stressful as games go on.

Myztro has played against and beat other ALGS teams in GLL 44-47, TieBreak Preseason Finals, and the EURAT Finals Qualifiers so far. However, these tournaments were also stocked with teams that aren’t playing in the ALGS, so it will be interesting to see how Myztro competes with the best of the best in EMEA.
