Myztro has sent 4 of their players to beautiful Lucca, Italy for the 2018 Italian Esports Open. Held in the de-consecrated San Romano Cathedral, These players (Garpy, Raisy, Clawz, and Xron) will play against 6 other Quake legends for Bragging Rights, a $7,250 Prize Pool, and tickets to Dreamhack Winter!  Dylan Winn from the Myzstudio Team will be keeping you up-to-date with all the action from Lucca!

Man, what a tournament. The ups, the downs, the losses and wins. Raisy went from barely making the Playoffs to beating Rapha, taking 4 maps off of the old king. Every play made is highlight-reel material, and it made me cheer, laugh, even cry. Mission Successful. Congrats Adrián, you deserved it! Map 1. Ruins of Sarnath. Raisy looks dominant in Round 1, sweeping Rapha 3-0. Raisy pushes Map Point, 2-1 in Round 2. Rapha gets on the board with a 3-0 Round 3 scoreline. Raisy WIPES Rapha 3-0 in Round 4, and gets to Match Point!

Map 2. Vale of Pnath. This is it. Rapha flexes on Raisy, sweeping Round 1 3-0. But Raisy sweeps Rapha in Round 2 3-0, tying the map up 1-1. Rapha again sweeps Raisy in Round 3 3-0. a THRILLING Round 4 saw a Sudden Death and Raisy winning 3-2. Round 5 was the MOST TENSE game I’ve ever seen. The match went 2-2 Sudden Death, but he clutched the last kill, defeating Rapha and winning the Italian Esports Open 2018!!!

Grand Finals Time. Lets go.

Map 1 is Vale of Pnath. Rapha gets 2 kills in the first 30 seconds, but Raisy answers back with 2 frags of his own. Rapha won the round 3-2. Rapha pulls out Round 2 from Raisy 3-0. But, Raisy SWEPT Round 3 3-0. Raisy held on, but Rapha won Round 4 and the series 3-2. 

Map 2, Corrupted Keep. Raisy BUSTS out Round 1, beating Rapha 3-2. Rapha came back in Round 2, 3-1. Raisy got to Map Point in Round 3, 3-1. Raisy closes out “Raisy’s Keep” 3-1, and ties up the match score 1-1. 

Map 3, Ruins of Sarnath. Rapha sweeps Round 1, 3-0. Raisy sweeps Round 2 3-0, with a SICK rail kill on Rapha. Raisy sweeps AGAIN in Round 3, 3-0, and hits Map Point. And that, he did. In classic Raisy fashion, he sweeps and wins the series, resetting the bracket!

Map 1, on Vale of Pnath. Round 1 goes to Rapha, and it lasted under a minute! But Clawz worked just as fast, securing 2 frags in less than 50 seconds, and won Round 2 3-1. Rapha just barely squeezed by Clawz in Round 3, winning 3-2. Rapha closed up shop, winning Round 4 3-0, and the series 3-1.

Map 2, on Awoken. Clawz shows his strength on his map pick, winning round 1 3-1. Rapha comes back, winning the second round 3-2, with a last second duel frag. Rapha also wins Round 3 3-1. Sadly, Rapha came out victorious, winning the round 3-1, and the series 3-1.

Map 1 of Finals Day, on Blood Covenant. Raisy shows dominance in Round 1, sweeping k1llsen 3-0. However, k1llsen shows up in Round 2, tying it up 1-1. Round 3 was long, with no kills going into Sudden Death, but Raisy secured the kill with his duel-wield LG skills, leading 2-1. k1llsen answered back, winning Round 4 3-1, and forcing Round 5. Round 5 went into Sudden Death again, bit k1llsen closes it out, winning the round and the map 1-0. 

Map 2 is on Raisy’s pick, Vale of Pnath. Round 1 went to k1llsen, but Raisy shut him out 3-0 in Round 2. k1llsen got ahead 1-2 with a Round 3 win. Raisy came back, tying the map 2-2 and forcing Round 5. But, Raisy had the last laugh, 3-0ing k1llsen and forcing the tiebreaker map.

Map 3, Corrupted Keep. k1llsen takes Round 1 3-1, as well as Round 2 3-0. However, Raisy comes out swinging 3-0 on Round 3. But sadly, k1llsen comes out in Round 4 3-1, guaranteeing Top 3.

Map 1 starts with Rapha’s pick, Vale of Pnath. Rapha swept Round 1 over Xron 3-0. Xron looked better in Round 2, getting 2 frags, but it wasn’t enough, with Rapha winning 3-2. Rapha closed out Vale with a 3-2 Round 3.

Map 2, on Awoken. Round 1 goes to Xron 3-1, with his signature railgun excellence. However, Rapha responds with a 3-0 sweep Round 2 and Round 3. Xron looked strong on Round 3, leading 2-0 early, but Rapha reverse swept and took the series 2-0.

Raisy Clutches out Round 1 3-1 with Keel and BJ. He also dominates Round 2 with some stellar LG kills 3-1, and closes out the first map with a 3-0 sweep in Round 3.

Map 2 was a hard start for Raisy, with Cypher taking Round 1, but Raisy answered with a Round 2 W, as well as a 3-0 Round 3. Round 4 was insane for Raisy, but Cypher clutched up and got his first round win. Round 5 was revenge for that clutch, with Raisy sweeping 3-0, and moving into the winners bracket! He faces Cooller next.

Map 1. Corrupted Keep. vengeuR started off Round 1 2-0, but Xron came back 3-2. Round 2 was a different story, as vengeuR took it 3-0. But, Xron answered back with a 3-0 in Round 3, with a SICK telefrag and a Dire Orb! Round 4 started with yet another Xron Dire Orb, but that isn’t enough to keep vengeuR down. Round 5 was tense, with vengeuR taking Corrupted Keep 3-2.

Map 2. Round 1 was another close one, but Zron takes it 3-2. vengeuR answers with a 3-1 win in Round 2. Xron got onto Map Point on Round 3, 3-1, but Round 4 went to vengeuR sent it to Round 5 with a 3-1 win. Round 5 looked over for Xron after a 2-0 vengeuR lead, but he brought it into Sudden Death, winning the round and the map on Galena.

Map 3. Tiebreaker time. Xron clutches Round 1 3-0, but vengeuR answers with a 3-0 sweep in Round 2, as well as Round 3. Xron ties up the Rounds on Round 4, winning 3-1, taking us to match point for the third time! Round 5 went top Xron 3-1, sending him to face Rapha in the winners bracket!

Map 2 was on Corrupted Keep. Round 1 went to Rapha, with an opening duel-rocket kill on Garpy. Round 2 looked better for Garpy, but Rapha won 1-3. Garpy gets on the board with a 3-0 round that finished in less than a minute! Round 4 was a come-from-behind victory from Garpy, with a HUGE rocket frag that saved his chances! However, Map 5 went to Rapha, pushing Garpy into the losers bracket.
